There are many ways to drive LCD screens, and the commonly used driving methods include static driving and dynamic driving. Let me introduce them to you below!
1. Static driving mode
Static driving is the most basic method to achieve the best display quality, and it is suitable for driving pen segment LCD liquid crystal display devices. The electrode structure of this type of liquid crystal display device, when multiple digits are combined, the back electrodes BP of each digit are connected together. In a static driving circuit, the pulse signal of the oscillator is divided and directly applied to the back electrode BP of the LCD liquid crystal display device, while the pulse signal of the segment electrode is generated by synthesizing the display selection signal and the timing pulse. When a display pixel is selected, the phase difference between the pulse voltage of the two electrodes on the display pixel is 1800.
Generate a 2V voltage pulse sequence on the display pixels to make the LCD display pixels exhibit display characteristics. When a display pixel is selected as non display, the pulse voltage phase of the two electrodes on the display pixel is equal.
The static driving method synthesizes a voltage pulse of 0V on the display pixel to achieve the display effect. In order to improve contrast, the voltage of the pulse can be adjusted appropriately.
2. Dynamic driving method
When there are numerous pixels displayed on an LCD monitor, in order to save hardware driver circuits. Processing was carried out on the production and arrangement of electrodes for LCD display devices, and a matrix structure was implemented. Connecting the back electrodes of a horizontal group of display pixels together is called row electrodes, and connecting the segment electrodes of a vertical group of display pixels together is called column electrodes.
On LCD display devices, each display pixel is uniquely determined by its position in the column and row, and a raster scanning method similar to CRT is used in the driving mode accordingly. The dynamic driving method of LCD displays involves cyclically applying selection pulses to the row electrodes and simultaneously providing corresponding selection or non selection driving pulses to all column electrodes displaying data.
Implement the display function of all display pixels in a certain row, which is a line by line sequential scanning with a short cycle. To achieve stable display on LCD screens, people refer to the scanning driving method of LCD displays as dynamic driving.
